Turns out Linux is great when your kernel is relatively fresh by default.

starring this comment, amazing resource from the FSF - thank you!
This is what bugs me about our renewables transition. We should eventually be getting cheaper electricity due to solar overabundance and cost of production going to zero.
Instead, these data centers are gobbling up every free Watt the grid produces, not even paying premium for it, and we’re soaking up the costs due to the price of the demand.
This then incentivizes anyone with a home solar setup to never give back to the grid at all, because otherwise you’re feeding these assholes

Knights of Sidonia. First season was dark, bleak, gritty. Mystery and intrigue, and kick-ass action.
Second season turned into a dating sim, complete with horny AI spaceships. I wish I was joking.
I feel like we are in agreement
Think about how much empathy your parents generation has for yours. They kind of sympathize, wish things were easier, but ultimately do not understand the wealth gap or your day-to-day.
Think about how much empathy you have for a 3rd world exploited labourer. You kind of sympathize, definitely wish things were easier, but ultimately do not understand on how they live on less than a dollar a day.
Billionaires aren’t just one or two levels removed from understanding your situation. They are whole planets apart. They cannot comprehend our daily struggles. They do not see it except through summarized news reports that pander and reframe it to their lifestyle.
Billionaires are the most removed species on this planet
yeah but it’s way besides the point, no?
It makes sense for Rome though, these cars are expensive and appeal to the fashion sensibilities of the population there, rather than just using the good public transport there. It’s a signal of wealth, rather than an actual functional commodity.
I found this out the hard way the last time I expressed my love of the AMI
it is though too
what’s the norwegian word for feeling bad for someone else’s shame?
