It’s actually done much more quickly than anticipated (provided you have an extra drive or at least an extra partition handy). You can just put a live image on a pendrive (with BalenaEtcher or similar tool) and boot from it. You can then install it from the live image, or try another distro through the same process if you don’t like your first pick.

Comfort, familiarity, ignorance. And there’s people like me who use tools that don’t exist on Linux (I dual boot Debian Trixie now, but it’s barely usable)

oh, I installed Debian Trixie yesterday ! having a little trouble with my Wacom tablet, which wasn’t a problem in Fedora a few years ago… But apart from that it’s 👌🏼

oh, is it wysiwyg ? I settled on QOwnNotes this year and my only gripe is that the markdown editor and the actual note viewer are separated, which divides screen estate by 2 pretty much. Other than that I love that it’s a native program, very lightweight, and of course open source. I’ll be watching your progress. Cheers !
