Having both an online and physical backup is best though.
I’ve lost a bunch of stuff in two bad moves, lost boxes and just plain ole physical damage. I also know others who’ve lost due to water damage. Pests, mold, and fire are also considerations. (Albeit the person who lost stuff due to pests didn’t lose dvds, they did lose a lot of other things though.)
In contrast, my DVD library is…checks notes…stable and growing mildly next year.

My off-site backups of my DVDs really aren’t what they should be.
I live somewhere where the laws are poor about having a right to make a personal backup, which sucks.
