They diversify sure. But are they required to have a pool of “all stocks?” (That would be quite a few.) The portfolio managers can choose what to include in the portfolio.
And, perhaps most importantly, the investors who allowed Musk to go from just another moderately wealthy silicone valley dude to the wealthiest person on earth. And the FTC for not throwing him in jail for decades for stock market manipulation.
Should someone with a, for example, 2015 model be given the benefit of the doubt? Does it change if it was purchased well after the fact but restored from a wreck by a third party or something, or if it was bought from someone avoiding the reremovedtion?
Elon Musk backstabbed tesla owners when he bought twitter and started supporting trump instead of being politically neutral as before. It was a very bad idea for Biden to credit GM for EVs and not include Musk in automaker meetings.
He stated this himself as one of “the” reasons. No one ever said it was “the” reason. He mentioned many other reasons, but this is “the” reason I agree with.
As pathetic as it sounds, yes. There was an abrupt change in Muskrat’s behaviour after that snub. He swung hard towards Republicans immediately after it, and was very very loudly butthurt about it all over social media.
Should a grown man be that fragile, no.
But all evidence suggested he indeed was, and part of this hellscape we are in is because Dems shunned Tesla & Musk in a public way and damaged his apparently fragile ego.
I seem to recall him starting to go nuts on social media and podcasts long before the Biden administration. But I’m sure such a snub didn’t help things.
Agree on the Biden bit. But think there’s more to it. Saw a new documentary about Elon Musk and the lawsuits against Tesla concerning the failed autopilot, which have killed and injured several people. One of the main points in the movie was that Elon Musk started supporting Trump to put an end to the 3-4 lawsuits, which would have big consequences for Tesla and Musk, which it indeed did when Trump won. To me it sounds like that would also be a pretty big motivation for supporting Trump.
All you tesla owners. you enabled this psychopath
and shareholders. and twitter users.
Most shareholders don’t have a choice. Pension funds and 401k’s are legally required to own a pool of all stocks which forces them to buy Tesla.
It’s how Musk got to offload his overpriced SpaceX stock onto the public.
They diversify sure. But are they required to have a pool of “all stocks?” (That would be quite a few.) The portfolio managers can choose what to include in the portfolio.
All 401(k) are legally required to invest in fortune100 stocks.
That’s why the normal 3 month delay for getting listed as a fortune100 being reduced to 15 days in the case of SpaceX was a bit of a brouhaha.
And Twitter users.
And, perhaps most importantly, the investors who allowed Musk to go from just another moderately wealthy silicone valley dude to the wealthiest person on earth. And the FTC for not throwing him in jail for decades for stock market manipulation.
Don’t forget the regulators who let him have a board made up of his friends and family.
Of all the other shadey shit he does, is that one actually illegal?
Like… I agree with you, but i’m confused… Would that be someone other than the FTC?
The SEC no? idk how laws work I am not a lawyer. All I see is if you have a ton of money the legal system does not appear to work at all.
Oh thank you- sorry I meant to say SEC instead of FTC initially.
“But I bought before we knew he was crazy wah wah wah!” /s
Seriously doesnt help that he buys his way into cool things and spreads his stank on it.
Originally this was unfair, but it’s 2026. If you still have a swastacar, fuck you.
This is an interesting philosophical question, honestly. My own current opinion includes !fuckcars@lemmy.world though, so it doesn’t matter too much.
According to RationalWiki, Musk “went crazy” ~2018 and <18% of 2025 purchases were <= that year.
Should someone with a, for example, 2015 model be given the benefit of the doubt? Does it change if it was purchased well after the fact but restored from a wreck by a third party or something, or if it was bought from someone avoiding the reremovedtion?
Don’t forget starlink.
“But I bought it, before he went crazy!” … “He always has been!”
And the US government
Try only the us government, people blaming customers are dumb

“You must not cowtow completely to corporate interests” is the very least I expect from a president.
What do you suppose the reason was that Musk was excluded from those meetings with all the other corporate interests?
Are you suggesting Biden not including him is the reason he turned ultra maga?
He stated this himself as one of “the” reasons. No one ever said it was “the” reason. He mentioned many other reasons, but this is “the” reason I agree with.

I agree. I posted the bits I knew. I have no interest in his complete biography.
Tesla owners don’t give AF. They think they are superior beings.
I don’t know, already saw teslas with bumper stickers saying they bought it before Musk became insane.
Sometimes those stickers are on models that came out after we all knew what Musk is.
Yeah sometimes you see a Juniper with those and those came out post-Nazi salute
I can hear the people saying, “I really want a Tesla, but I don’t want people to think I’m a Nazi sympathiser. I know, I’ll get a sticker…”
Gave me an idea to make musk salute stickers and place them well on some vehicles. OoooOOoO
At least it promotes a good spirit i would say.
I saw this sticker on a cyber truck and was like… what
Yea, a bit too suspicious.
Yes! And the Gazan genocide is the fault of Waze users, and Soda stream owners!!!
