I saw a video on spawnwave that talked today about what games people are enjoying in 2026 right now. And the different reactions of different social media/sites.
I personally am loving Wild Blue Skie s. Its just starfox. Thats what I want to play!
BALL x PIT is a whole lot of fun. I didn’t think it would be but it keeps getting better and better.
I also liked FTL back in the day so I picked up Void War . Its like warhammer + FTL and its fantastic.
EDIT: You all are great! Keep them coming! So many games (video games and otherwise) in this list!
I just picked up RetroSpace yesterday. It’s basically System Shock and Bioshock mashed together. Wake up aboard a generation ship as a janitor, try and figure out what happened. Along the way, you purchase genetic mutations. Die and you’re remade with defects, like uncontrollable cursing. Very fun so far with a good sense of humor.
I also let my friends talk me into playing FFXIV, and just finished up the Ultima fight. This is the first MMO I’ve dedicated major time to since Guild Wars.
Currently bouncing between Space Station 14 and Elite: Dangerous. SS14 when I’m feeling social, Elite when I need to just disappear into space in my very own ship where nobody can bother me
After sitting in my library for years, I finally booted up Timberborn and now I’m hooked. Something about hydro engineering and logistics just tickles my brain. I just wish there was some sort of campaign mode to give me purpose once my coming can survive harsh droughts and badtides
I played the VR games “I Expect You To Die” 1-3. They were the first VR games that actually hooked me and the intros are absolutely phenomenal. When I started with the first one and saw the intro I thought to myself that the intro went way too hard for a VR game. And the next two only went harder. The gameplay is very fun and engaging.
Then I played through Goodnight Universe in one evening. It was a beautiful experience. I even shed a few tears. Highly recommend.
Currently I am playing the Gothic Remake. It’s not very beginner friendly and I’m not sure if I like it yet.
Just recently finished Big Hops.
Its a really good 3D platformer that gives slight Mario Odyssey vibes in terms of big open world areas to explore. A lot od good movement mechanics and feels fresh from start to finish.
Currently I’m addicted to Dressmaker. It’s chill, creative and without pressure that it’s perfect to decompress and relax after work.
Original Metroid 2 on GB. It’s short, but I’m having a lot of fun doing a few metroids each morning.
Playing a bunch of remastered Witcher 3
What the Golf has been making me laugh a lot.
My buddy talked me into no mans sky and I gotta say, its really fun.
Its got bugs for sure, and some stuff that is irritating like having to hold E for every action or the stupid notification that happens every time you warp to a system or station that requires you to hold tab to skip but there are mods that help.
I love being able to build a ship and a base on different planets, own my own space fleet, destroy pirates, be a pirate, etc. Its far from perfect but I’m into it now. Its fun as hell.
I’m struggling my way through Dark Souls right now, just got to Blighttown. Souls-like games weren’t ever my jam previously but I just got into them recently after beating Mortal Shell 2 and figured I’d play my way through the Fromsoft catalogue in order.
I’m also playing Lies of P and that game is fantastic. Before that it was a lot of Hades and Pathogenic, which I still go back to for breaks from dieing in Dark Souls lol
Fuck Blighttown.
Ace Combat 8. Although my computer requires that it be set to potato mode.
Freelancer. Old but always enjoyable.
Battletech. HBS put out an absolute banger.
I’m playing the Witcher 3 for the remaster, and getting mollywopped over and over on Death March. I’m also watching my girlfriend become a gamer playing Skyrim.
My wife has over 1200+ hours in skyrim. Your girlfriend is going to enjoy I think haha. GL!
Yeah, she’s a level 40 mage who just killed Miraak.
I’ve got a deck of cards in my coffee table that I like to play solitaire on. I keep tweaking the house rules to make it more fun.
Actually I’m not sure I’d call it “fun” so much as “relaxing.” But I do enjoy myself.
It counts!
Haha thanks, I did double check this wasn’t just about video games first. :9
I was hoping to get some physical games here too.
Transport Fever 3 just came out. I just sunk 12 hours and plan to sink even more. They perfected the tycoon genre.
