Whoever can treat an animal like this shouldn’t have had a monkey to begin with.
Whoever gets a monkey as a pet, probably doesn’t care too much about the decent thing to do, sadly.
At least the monkey now has a chance to spend its time with other marmosets and experience a social life it’s likely been deprived of.
But threatening people with fines and jail is bound to lead to more dangerous situations for the animals. Why not introduce a chance to surrender them into capable hands including an amnesty?
