Fediverse@lemmy.world•Another missed promise from DandupEnglish
55·3 days agoI’ve commented this in another thread today and I’ll post it again:
Please be nice to people who build stuff for the fediverse in their free time. We need them.
I’m say loops is fedi-washed like a reactionary. There’s no other instances, apparently it dies use the activityhub protocol.
Loops is very new. Completely normal for a new service to have one main instance by the devs, you need an instance to test your stuff with real users. The server was open sourced in September and is now at beta6. There are in fact 8 loops servers in operation. This isn’t “fedi-washed”. It’s just very new. Give it some time and please be nice to people who build stuff for the fediverse in their free time. We need them.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What is the best way to support Lemmy specifically and the Fediverse in general financially?English
15·12 days agoI plan on switching to Piefed because of that.
Same, I already did. Maybe the fediverse foundation would host a PieFed instance if there’s enough interest.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What is the best way to link to a podcast episode on the Fediverse?English
33·14 days agoIf the podcast is listed on podcastindex.org you could link to that. It supports linking to individual episodes.

5·15 days agoThat’s a bunch of custom css on top of the default theme. But it’s not finished yet. I haven’t figured out all the details yet, some parts are still blue.

Games@lemmy.world•Do we have No Man's Sky fans here?English
24·15 days agoI returned to it when the corvette update dropped. Might come back when there’s another huge update. I usually lose interest after two weeks of playing it, because things start to get repetitive.
I saw another comment on PieFed raise the same point of confusing again, so I think it’s worth addressing, where the user squirrel said: “I see Bonfire mentioned a lot on the fediverse report and elsewhere, but I still don’t understand what it is. I went to their website and it’s a wall of text that sounds like marketing. I don’t see a demo or a flagship instance.”
Oh shit… I’m in the report 😳

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Why ActivityPub over Nostr? - function onlyEnglish
9·20 days agoI’ve read somewhere that the fediverse has the most moderators per user of any social network because of it’s decentralized nature. Can’t find the source right now though.

I like seeing posts from Mastodon and other microblogs over here. Just keep the first line clean, it’s the post title on the threadiverse.
I’ve started posting on PieFed lately, and with the ability to set hashtags for my posts, I’m already seeing more comments from Mastodon than when I posted from Lemmy before.
Love federation between different services.
