I mean, Steam cloud saves only work with Steam, no?
What did you mean by this?
That I love my partner very much.

Yeah, I understand Linux gaming was not great until fairly recently. Heroic and Lutris have been around for a few years now as I understand it, though I admit I’m still new to the scene. Honestly though, in my experience, Steam still doesn’t just work in some cases, and I’ve admitted to myself that’s just going to be the Linux gaming experience. I check Proton DB before buying any game now.
And yet you decided to continue this thread by saying that you weren’t exaggerating.
In fact, I never said that.

Is there any launcher that doesn’t offer free cloud saves these days?
(not neglecting that Stream normalized it, for the record)
Of course the %age I used was an exaggeration. Sorry, was this conversation being driven by the assumption that it wasn’t? I exaggerated to make my point.
I think you drastically underestimate how much I love my partner.
I wouldn’t say it’s an anxiety, I’d say it’s a cost-benefit analysis I’ve done and decided that having cell service to catch a potential emergency call is more important to me than that one extra level of privacy like OP. Hell, I don’t want to miss a call even if it isn’t an emergency. I love my partner and want to talk to them any chance I can get; if they’re calling I want to answer.
I would not be comfortable not having mobile signal. Public WiFi is not going to cut it. Even a 0.00001% chance that I’d miss an important call from my partner is no bueno for me.

If you care this much about not using Steam, why would this be the deciding factor? I can play GoG games right now on Linux.

We’ll have to agree to disagree about it feeling completely different then! Not least of which because I haven’t gotten to feel it at all, since it’s not out. It looks very cool and fun imho though! Still think the headline is unfair.

Do any of these Google Maps alternatives have any traffic functionality? That’s been my sticking point so far. Most people who are switching off Google are doing it for privacy reasons, which is great, but that generally means they’re not giving up location data for traffic purposes.

What do you think I meant by reimagined?
Oof, on Boost those links aren’t parsed correctly.
They said colloquial, not traditional.

I don’t think the headline is fair at all. I think it’s there, just reimagined. And personally I think it sounds really cool. If I want the old system, I can play the old games.

I’m not an expert, take this with a very big grain of salt.
But I think what you want here is for your home server tailscale to act as an exit node for your remote connection.
This will mean that your phone for example will route traffic through your home server, using its AdGuard DNS.
You can even set it up to conditionally use it as an exit mode, iirc.
Excited, but never preorder. Hope performance on PC isn’t garbage.

I don’t really think I’d call it a tower defense game tbh.
Yes, I established that was an exaggeration for effect. 👍
