This is a step beyond the endless words of condemnations, and beyond sanctions for 3 individual Israeli colonists. It’s actually a real sanction And while these import bans can be avoided actual meaningful work will need to be done to do so.
People like to circlejerk about Mamdani but NYC is still stuck a the rhetoric part.
A trade ban is something that should have obviously been present from the start. Even the ICJ has stated this to be required in 2024
But at least it’s finally something and the political pressure is finally paying off. Meaning with more political pressure more can be achieved.

The Netherlands is extremely invested in Israel and has a large Zionist lobby. Not at the scale of Germany or the USA but still significant.
Them putting action financial sanctions on Israel to begin with is a slight miracle. And while these sanctions can be sidestepped, this is an actual step with meaningful impact meaning the political pressure has at least resulted in something which can definitely be pushed further.
It’s a very small step but it’s something beyond only rhetorics and condemnation. The political pressure works so lets keep it going.

Also Netherlands is simliar to Ireland and Belgium a large passthrough haven for stolen Palestinian goods going into Europe. So Israeli colonists will have to find other harbors (or just lie about country of origin and probably get away with it).
Lastly Booking.com has been renting out stolen Palestinian homes in the West Bank I wonder if this will affect them in any way.

Which is then used to push Zionist laws against Palestine protesters (because being anti-Israel is classified as antisemitism) and also sanction political opponents of Israel such as Iran with a vague lie of Iran being behind something they’re clearly not behind.
