If you use xorg do you have xserver-xorg-video-nouveau?

do you have libdrm-nouveau2?

do you have libgl1-mesa-dri?

did you install firmware-nvidia-graphics? this is the firmware packages from NVIDIA to use it in Nouveau, should help you a lot.
