Still watching Alien: Earth. Still enjoying it, despite the same lazy writing flaws continuing to pop up. If anyone else is still watching, feel free to share your thoughts since I am fully caught up.
I’m also watching the second season of Wednesday, which is pretty all over the place and already feels like its had two conclusions despite the fact I’ve only watched 5/8 episodes. This season also feels quite desensitised to violence/death, which I know is the show’s thing but there are so many people dying without any sort of black comedy angle that I am actually finding it off-putting. The show expects me to care about the lives of a minority of plot-armoured individuals whilst simultaneously murdering scores of people simply to progress the plot. Callousness without wit is not entertaining.
I will finish out this season, then I’m out. It’s just not appealing to me. I will say Timothy Oliphant is a bright spot though. They need to give him more to do.
Timothy Oliphant is definitely delivering a great performance, but i feel like him having limited screen time benefits the character as it helps sustain some of the mystique of what he is scheming.
