I watched the first three episodes of Gen V last night (three episode premiere) and it was generally good, but a little bit of whiplash.

The first episode did a recap of season 1, but season 2 takes things in what seems like a different direction compared to what was set up at the end of season 1.

I think the passing of season 1 actor Chance Perdomo may be part of the reason, but also because the events of The Boys (season 4) largely continue the overall storyline and when we get back Gen V it’s time to just pickup where The Boys left off, which means a lot of pieces moved around, but Gen V was just frozen until we got back to it.

We needed a “this is what Gen V was up to during the events of The Boys” episode that we didn’t get. But… since Chance Perdomo passed away you can’t show us, you have to tell us, and it makes the start of the season a little weird.
