I’ve got three games going on:
-
Paper Mario (N64) for a gaming book club sort of thing, but I was intent on finishing the Paper Mario and Mario RPG series anyway. The N64-ness took a bit of getting used to but it’s a great game, most of the series’ DNA is in there already.
-
Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) for on the go, but I must admit I’m a little stuck in one of the first dungeons - bit embarrassing!
-
Forza Horizon 6 (XSX) on the big telly. Super cheesy writing and the game just showers you with supercars, but it’s fun ticking off the events and collectables. Looks gorgeous!
-
Looked through my game catalog for scary games to play this month and found Signalis. I’m guessing it was a ps+ game at some point because I don’t remember purchasing it. I’ve gotten through the first few areas and I’m enjoying it so far. Not really that scary but the atmosphere is still creepy. It has glowing reviews so I’m hoping it lives to to them.
That looks super cool. Definitely added to my wishlist. Thanks for the rec!
I’ve gone back to Ocarina of Time. Hoping this is the playthrough where I finally beat it
Valheim 1.0 update, has been a long time coming and super worth it!
Hogwarts Legacy is surprisingly good! Been playing this for the past week.
Started another playthrough of the first Control. Just walking around blasting stuff with the melee push and watching how all the individual items react never gets old.
Stardew Valley Expanded. Never played it to completion but I think it’s perfect rn because I’ve been so overstimulated recently.
I’m playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It has a 90% discount in Steam right now and it’s been on my wishlist for a long time.
It’s a beautiful game to look at. It runs great on the Steam Deck. The only issue I had was that it’s quite dark for the OLED screen, but I’ve turned up the brightness and now it’s good.
I find it quite challenging to play though, but that’s part of the fun. If you like metroidvania games, I do recommend it, especially at its current price.
Such a great game and the sequel looks even better! I just beat the first one and really loved it, just about the right difficulty, and the escape sequences were really cool.
God of war hardest difficulty (whyyyyyy). Also a bit of Roblox and look outside
The Witcher 3 Remastered. What a game. I love it like i played it the first time. Although it has some weird bugs.
Lots of Cyberpunk 2077 this week. I’ve been mostly driving around and doing side missions/gigs so I didn’t make much progress with the main story. I did however finish the parade and the intro (rescue) section of Phantom Liberty to unlock Dogtown and make sure I won’t lock myself from the expansion in case I decide to play it later.
As fun as the game is I feel myself drawn to any and all non-combat activities, which are somewhat limited in this game. Maybe I’ll do a photography tour of the map for a bit?
Just finished Assassin’s Creed Directors Cut after getting it free or cheap from somewhere. Was nice to revisit something I’d originally played (and abandoned) many years ago.
I’ve since played a few of the others and was nice to contrast both the pureness of the original and the enhancements of the later.
The Witcher 3 remastered, that most of us got for free at the end of September.
It was hard not to dive back in that world.
This week:
- Strange Brigade - really fun shooter/puzzler with beautiful voice acting.
- Venetica - simple but fun quest based gameplay, with a nice story.
Started Dishonored 2. What a blast, love it.
I love the level design, although it sometimes breaks my brain. Story is decent, all in all a pleasant experience.
Bought this one this week, it’s in the queue.
Would recommend continue with Death of the Outsider. This series is a masterpiece that no one can copy.
