I will start by saying I have toyed with posting this because as soon as someone says they don’t wanna see it, someone will make a community for it. However I feel like some of the stuff that makes Reddit annoying is creeping over. And just because I don’t like it does not mean its not a valid community. So if it is least put in the right place (rather that the bigger generic communities) I can then just filter or block it.

- Am I the arsehole
- Relationship drama
- Celebrity worship/drama
So what communities DON’T you want to see here?
Sports communities.
I hate how many pop up post 3 things a day for a month then disappear. Bloats the hell out of my block list.
It’s because someone thinks “My team can have a community here!” And they try, they post stuff and try to get the fans together to talk about the team and sport they love.
But if there’s minimal engagement, they eventually give up.
It’s definitely discouraging. Getting to the point that the median post on !nwsl@lemmy.world was above zero took like 2-3 years – I’m not surprised the vast majority of posters don’t slog through.
For over a year it was only me posting in !womenshockey@reddthat.com with almost no interaction.
I started following the nwsl because of your post’s and community. I do not have time to watch games, but I b dope among because of you.

You realize sports communities usually keep to themselves. Oh no your block list it’s bloated. Sounds like it’s working
I wasn’t trying to have a dig or offend communities. We all have very valid interests that others dislike. Please don’t take it personal. I am often told i am blunt so this is meant with a lighthearted intent, and see it more as a conversation rather than a negative.

Yeah people need to warm up to the “block community” feature, it’s not meant to be insulting, just another filter
Until one team losses and the winning team starts tolling or bridging the losing team, or there is a sport ball event and its plastered everywhere, or someone is banned from world so they make a new community on zip or piefed or db0.
