I’m a going as a social butterfly. I got a cute rainbow monarch wing cape thing at the renfair and I am going to print social media logos and tape them to a shirt. It’s cheap, cute, and funny lol.
I am rapidly learning that cosplay is a lot harder than it looks…

Cosplay can be crazy. I’m a fan of dollar store cosplays and do like every cosplay of mine for so cheap on purpose because there’s a lovely charm to it lol
I don’t do Halloween. I don’t like dressing up as anything other than me, and I don’t feel like anyone would be very impressed.
I would like to be Venjent but my problem is that the things i want to dress up as aren’t things anyone recognizes.
I was Minnie Mouse for my nephew’s group costume, and have been Minnie Mouse again ever since.
Last Halloween I went to a karaoke night dressed as The Mask and learned the hard way that using oil-based face paints without a setting powder or spray is a bad idea because that doesn’t dry. Won’t be repeating the same mistake this year.
This year? I’m actually going to another city to celebrate my friend’s birthday, but I plan to go to a karaoke night the day before dressed as Danhausen.

Aren’t you all forgetting it’s meant to be horror related costumes?
Since when?
since it began
Omg I love the idea!
The Halloween Party theme is animals, so I’m dressing up as a stuffed animal that some of them know.
I’ll either be asleep or at work so: Disgruntled wage slave.
I’m filled with dread just thinking about it.
I have had a David S. Pumpkins suit since just after it aired and I wear it every year.
I have been catcalled twice by other men wearing it. They were very aggressive.
I am also in a stock photo of a business meeting where I am wearing the suit and there are about 30 people wearing normal clothing because I went to a conference on 10/30 where they encouraged costumes, showed up an hour late and had to sit in the front row. The picture is taken of me sitting there hungover and looking tired and everyone else smiling.
It’s the most flammable suit I own.
No regrets.Man, I’ve got a lot of questions…
You’ve got the sidekicks too, right? That costume only works if you’ve got the two other people.
I absolutely do. And we plan on entering every room with a dance and a song.
I’ve been working on my costume for about two months now, and it’s about 2/3rds done. I haven’t quantified total expenditures yet but I’d estimate it’s over $700 in materials and supplies.
Yes, it’s a fursuit (bird suit partial).
Red cap, grey Music Band T shirt, red hoodie, skateboard. Bam: Sexy Steve Buscemi.

Turd Ferguson. Again.
Those big foam hats aren’t cheap, you need at least 4 appearances.
Nah, that’s uh…. not my name.
No because I’m not American.
No fun is allowed in your country I presume
It’s Switzerland, image an entire country of uptight people with a huge bug up their ass.
You sound like fun.

UK here and Halloween is in a weird place. Its shoved down your throat really hard by every retailer. Adverts on TV, radio, pumpkins everywhere, SPOOKTOBER DEALS and such.
But, like, nobody cares? For the party animals its an excuse to dress slutty and get pissed up, and its an excuse for kids to dress up and walk around at dark, but everyone just seems to be going along with it because everyone seems to be going along with it.
I wish we could either have it be a bigger deal than it is so everyone cares, like Xmas (inb4 calling me secularist - piss off) or nobody cares and we can just stop.
As it currently is its just awkward.
I’m in Switzerland and it is indeed a weird place. Supermarket will sell Halloween themed candy and stuff but really most people don’t care. It’s actually funny how you can tell where the Americans live this time of the year, because only a few houses will have Halloween decorations up.
And I guess there will be Halloween themed parties where people wear costumes as well, but it’s certainly not a mainstream event and more like marketing gimmick.
I mean, it’s not Turnip Day, right?
No, that’s usually at the start of November.
I will be at home that evening in my tracksuit bottoms and hoodie.
Need to think of something for my kid though.
Where I’m from we don’t celebrate Halloween. They (retailers) tried really hard, but it was not a thing. So now the shops are already full of X-Mas things…
But I went to a con as Logan from X-Man last week, if that counts as dress up.
