Unpopular opinion: toilets are perfectly shaped to make farts as loud as possible.

If I hear someone on the phone in a public restroom I try to rip ass as loud as possible.

I’m not stuck in here with you, you’re stuck in here with me.

Someone did that at a supermarket bathroom I was in!

The guy was yapping away on his phone. I was washing my hands being annoyed. And suddenly, one guy said, “Fuck it!” And just blasted a massive fart shit.

The guy on the phone went silent. And I couldn’t help but laugh my ass off.

Yup. Bringing normal sounds into the bathroom is just as bad as bringing bathroom sounds into a normal room

I have IBS so if I want to go anywhere I have to deal with the fact that I may end up making lots of noise in a public toilet. In my forties I’m pretty desensitized about it now. Everybody poops.

Interesting that the wiki says it’s only for women’s restrooms.

Also funny that some women just really need the real thing, the sound box isn’t good enough. Never mind the public toilet spraying your nethers with flush water while you do your business. I guess the bidet helps with some of that.

Well, drawing from feminist theory, it’s all about men being allowed to be rough, dirty, filthy, smelly, loud, taking up space (physical, emotional, whathaveyou), careless, inconsiderate, dominant, whathaveyou without losing legitimacy as real men. Women, on the other hand, especially in Japan but really in any current human society, are forced to be feminine (as per patriarchal norms, the makeup industry’s standards, heterosexual men’s sexual desires, whathaveyou) or else risk losing legitimacy as real women. After all, girls don’t poop.

Edit/link description: search results on duckduckgo for “girls don’t poop”, with the purpose of sarcastically pointing to some ridiculous Reddit conversations, memes and jokes that “process” or reflect women’s lack of right to self-governance and dignity.

I only shit at home or in the woods. I hate walking into a public restroom and knowing a microscopic piece of another mans colon is now in my nose.

Have I got news for you: a lot of microscopic other men’s colon has been in your nose even outside of the bathrooms.

I feel like no longer caring if strangers can hear you poop is a big part of growing up. Not to say I’ve reached that point.

I used to clench up in public bathrooms if there was anyone else in the bathroom.

Now I just let 'er rip. Even if I know it’s gonna be loud and funky.

Everybody poops as they say. The bathroom is the socially acceptable place for farts imo.

    No. Nature isn’t embarassing.

I have been embarrassed when I shat my pants from drinking too much though.

usually about two blocks from my apartment after walking home drunk. held it in for like 20m but I just lost it at the end man. it was brutal. it was also at like 2am so not like there was anyone around to witness the lump in my pants.

Nature’s way of telling you you’ve had too much. ;^) Waking up covered in my own vomit was nature’s way of telling me. Your way sounds worse but actually probably a lot less dangerous.

If anyone out there is self conscious about this, remember: you should only be embarrassed by sounds that come out of your mouth when in the bathroom. If you’re grunting and sighing in the stall you need immediate medical attention or a gag. Pull it together

People grunting in the stall next to me is definitely worse than poop and fart noises. I already know the mechanics of the situation, I don’t want inklings of the personal narrative around it…

This leads us to a horrible would-you-rather: sounds of pain and discomfort, or pleasure and satisfaction?

To think… this is how I find out I’m a bad person lol.

My thinking brain knows that happy sounds are better. But my feeling brain just says “nope, I’d rather hear their pain”.

Not who I want to be, but here we are. Got some work to do.
