Republicans on Capitol Hill fear election fallout from economic impact of war, but stopped short of trying to cut off funding

      8/4/26 or later

Before that and they “waste” one of JD’s hypothetically terms

If they boot trump before that, it counts towards the two term maximum.

It might not be August, but I bet it’s before midterms in an attempt to undercut a blue wave against trump

They may “float” the idea and depending on how midterms shake out he might resign or he might stay in.

But no one is making a move till after 8/4/26

This seems to hinge on a free and fair election and I don’t see that happening when billionaires and private equity bought all the voting machine manufacturers and the administration has gutted and replaced election integrity personnel at speed.

          There’s three boxes…

They don’t have to be sequential, but if you skip any then it’s harder to get people to feel like they have to show up at the last one

Is that right? I was thinking it would be 1/20/27. Apparently I need to read The Constitution again. Something I know the annoying orange has never done…

Trump will never resign. I’m convinced he fully believes his own bullshit and would do everything he can to cling to power. Assuming he makes it to January 2029, I fully expect some sort of tantrum as he tries to hang onto power.

But the idea of the GOP waiting until August and then dragging him behind the woodshed is an interesting thought. They get Vance to end the Iran War and look like a responsible adult after the toddler Trump and maybe ameliorate any blue wave a bit.

          Trump will never resign.

A full pardon for past and future crimes from JD would do it.

If trump like either of his sons he’d want to hand it to them, but JD is the only one that could offer an immediate pardon.

JD keeps him around as a figure head, and can run off trumps image.

It’s a very likely scenario, don’t forget Trump’s brain is mush, if his handlers think it can save the midterms they’ll gaslight him into doing it

Trump loves the attention too much. He has repeatedly lied about crowd sizes of some of his events. Anyone who disagrees with him, he hates. Anyone who is nice to him or gives him a medal, he loves. No way he willingly steps away from the limelight and attention of the presidency.

              He’s still very easily manipulated…

And I can’t stress enough how much he wants a Hunter Biden esque “any and all crimes past and future” pardon.

no a full pardon won’t do it, because he’s still criminally liable at the state level. he believes he he’s going to jail if he leaves office, and he’ll do everything he can to stay in power until he dies. I suspect if he actually leaves office he’ll leave the country to avoid state prosecution.

I think people have forgotten how desperate he was to get back into office.

Aaww. Did Trump not give them enough time to make some bets on Polymarket? I guess these Republicans aren’t in the “inner circle”.

Any member of the House of Representatives can use rule 9 to force an Impeachment vote and pedo protector Johnson can’t stop it from happening.
