The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be reborn on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
This is actually not a bad advice. I did this with PlayStation, and skipped PS4 (and it was such a good generation!), played what I had on PS3, then Switch and then got a PS5. I am still mostly playing PS4 gen games, so plan to wait for PS6 Pro release, 3-4 years into next generation at least, but it still in the future and plans can change based on the features, price and my affordability.
I did the same for the first one. While the second was definitely fun, I didn’t really care for how they reused the old world. Definitely give some time between so you can also hit that nostalgia by revisiting the old places, but with a twist
I’ve been waiting for the next Zelda to buy a switch 2… but as someone who still has their golden n64 cartridge, I’m not sure this is it
I don’t think you should feel obliged to buy NS2.
I skipped the Switch and stuck to 3DS + Steam Deck, and now Switch 2 was a good deal since it covers two console gens.
So you could wait for NS3 in 5 years.

It’s probably getting more of a revamp than Star Fox at least
It hasn’t been long since Tears of the Kingdom so it might be a while. I hope we get something within couple of years though.
The next Zelda will be a launch title for the Switch 3.
Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom ended up in their list of best selling games, I doubt they will skip a whole generation.
It will likely come late in the generation as a bridge to Switch 3, as Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild were.
Heh, if we didn’t get a new Zelda game for Switch 2, I am going to blame you and @samus12345@sh.itjust.works 😄
Yeah, I was being facetious. It’s just gonna be while since TotK was only 3 years ago.
Ah, no worries.
This is definitely my worry, too.
Of right I forgot about that one. I haven’t played it, I was/am still kinda tired of the first one after 100%ing it
Just getting thru it myself. Actually just got my last shrines and light roots yesterday and headed to the final battle now.
It’s a joy to play on the Switch2 at 4k60 with very few frame drops.
