I caught someone streaming it and was intrigued because it’s artstyle and sound design is amazing.

But the story is “JORB OBELL 1984!” with a side of “Wowee the old ways with monarchs were flawed but they sure were better than eeeebil commie coded dictator who is going to enslave and kill everyone to bring utopia!” Which is wild coming from Czech writers whose own countries pre-communist old ways I’m pretty sure consisted of both Habsberg and Nazi occupation. But maybe it’s not my place to say as I’m not Czech and my historical knowledge is pretty bad.

It’s made by a Studio from a post Soviet country, so it’s like they saw Disco Elysium (Also from a post-Soviet country but far more accurate in its depiction of politics) get popular and got mad that it wasn’t anti-commie enough. This is just me tin foiling though.

Anyway this game has got very good reviews so I wanted to know if anyone here has played it and felt the same way I did, considering you’re apparently communists (WHAT? I THOUGHT THIS WAS LIBERAL MOUNTAIN!). It’s also pretty funny to see libs and leftists eat up what is essentially a right-wing RETVRN game just because it’s wrapped in a cozy indie package with a cute art style. People really need to learn how to see past aesthetics more.

I’ve never been more bemused/annoyed by a popular indie games depiction of a communist dictatorship since Papers Please.
