Nearly every company in the world that has an international presence uses chinese parts somewhere. And no, you racist count, made in china is not a word for cheap shit, it’s a word for made in a factory. You can’t avoid chinese products at this stage of capitalism. Your made in japan microwave? It was assembled in japan. It was made in china hence why you can get the brand less version for half price on aliexpress.
Country labeling is a joke, wherever the final assembly takes place is where the label gets put on, specially because racists like you are too stupid to tell the difference and it sincerely hasn’t mattered since before most people were born.
Just to highlight, she left a two year old, a seven year old, and a ten year old in one of the highest cost of living countries in order to go play soldier in a country she has never been to and has no connections to that cannot possibly pay her more than canadian minimum wage.
There’s no justifiable reason, russia isn’t going to invade canada next, ukraine doesn’t pay their mercenaries particularly well, her kids aren’t grown and her family isn’t well off enough to not have either a homemaker or second income. Every work from home person and every corporate end point will be upgrading; simply due to legal liability for the corporations. That alone is hundreds of millions of pcs and laptops getting thrown out (because anyone in IT knows no corpo is going to pay the extra hours to recycle properly).
Average users with no liability? Plenty will stay on win 10 until their use case no longer works, i.e. when steam dropped win vista compatibility, but plenty will be scared enough to upgrade.
The weird part will be seeing who sidegrades to a tablet in the corporate environment. Many android tablets can do everything needed for office work, and don’t have the same security cross section. Most app front ends are electron anyway these days so its not like x86 is needed.
