You’re correct. It’s kind of obvious and really depressing. All this efficiency gained through technology has never been used directly for quality of life of the people.

We already use Chinese models. Even the governments do. There are a few good OSS ones. Of course there is a bias risk, just like in any other technology. Why do models need to be trained in Europe?

He does not even für one second consider utilising technology for efficiency and growth. There is so much potential in not sending people to work. Yes, even AI can automate processes very well if done right. At some point countries will send machines to war and Merz will still send meat to the grinder.

Makes me want to grab and shake this old man in hopes there is still some problem solving capacity left in his >70 year old brain.

Thanks for the insights. I’m happy and unhappy at the same time to learn. I know mass migration is happening and will accelerate. I just meant that Europeans will not be the refugees but the part receiving migration. And it will be terrible since no refugee is welcome anymore anywhere. Even people from warzones, which is easier to grasp than people fleeing from climate effects. Truely concerning.

“Being affected by“ is a very general statement. Of course everyone is being affected. But in the middle of Europe people won’t need to become refugees due to unliveable conditions, burning, drought, starvation etc. So it will be more immediate around the equator I guess. However, I feel not so well informed and maybe I’m wrong.

Organisations are social ecosystems. This happens. Some person I don’t know said online: it’s more important to be likable then to be good at your Job. Be good, kind, helpful to people, treat everyone with true interest for what they do and respect. Have some passion. Gossip will likely stop. They will protect you as a person and not try to find your problems.
