I mean, it’s good to have a “legal” archive of things but there’s several lovely collections of box art and other things being archived across many services. I personally like how much Launchbox has collected, although I can’t use it anymore since going Linux. For PC, ExoDOS is also a great collection, too, as they actively seek out obscure DOS and Win 3.x games from the community.

At the end of the day, the only real way to archive gaming history is through emulation and piracy. Frankly the industry deserves as much.

I learned early on not to fabricate stories that I’ll lose track of. I love lying by omission, though, as you can tell half the story and it’s easier to keep track of that way.

However, your mileage may vary. My 2yo is more like your 2yo and I’m not certain he’ll be a responsible 4yo in two years. He’s getting spoiled by his big sis, too.

I am on a retro fix lately and adore my Gen V Volcarona with Quiver Dance, but in that generation, my Ferrothorn saves me more often than not. Still, can’t do competitive with those DS games though, lol.

To add, it’s even worse if you know sweepers and how fast they can decimate your team; they usually have protection to one shot KO and decent speed.
