It’s easy to write relatively compelling drama (life and death stakes), mystery (who did the thing) and excitement (chases and fights) for cop shows.

They want to control what information people have access to and want to feed us propaganda to keep us doing things that make them richer and will put and keep them in control of economic policies.
This isn’t sudden, it’s been brewing in the background for years.
They’re up to fascism.

It’s being pushed in a bunch of countries by the same group of authoritarian billionaires.
I do that quite a bit but as a big sci-fi fan I feel like so many sci-fi shows get canceled after one or two seasons I should support them by watching them as they go.
With most other shows I wait until they end.
I love the show even as it’s becoming kind of far fetched. I’d love it more if the break between seasons wasn’t so damn long.

“The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout ‘SAVE US!’…and I’ll look down and whisper 'No.”

Eh, not really.
I watched a couple of episodes. Most of the humor wasn’t humorous for me.
Give Discovery a try, just be aware that it’s kind of uneven in quality the first season or so because of a lot of behind the scenes changes during the first season.
Discovery is very different in tone than the TNG era Trek shows and I don’t think it’s quite as good but it’s decent TV.
Lots of people just want the current Trek shows to be similar to the shows from that era but updated for the 21st century and they’re not that.
