It’s the exposure, which leads to more ad revenue (in theory, without adblockers). YouTube creators live or die based on the algorithm and two of the main things the algorithm looks at is frequency of posting and engagement. Since Google needs metrics to give advertisers some idea of revenue potential, someone liking your video isn’t nearly as valuable to the algorithm as someone liking, commenting and subscribing (if not already subscribed obvi). As an example, ElectroBOOM just started making shorts of all his old content because he’s in the middle of a big house move and doesnt have time to make regular content which he noticed led the algo to stop recommending his content as much. But as far as just making a junk account and liking every video Google has systems in place to ignore “stale” accounts that don’t actually watch the videos. Ultimately what they want is viewers since eyeballs equals ads equals revenue and everything else is just a way of predicting future views.

15·5 days agoedit Am I on drugs or did the article get updated? The section about charges is completely gone so maybe the below statement isn’t true.
Look I’m as anti-ICE as the rest of you, but did anyone read the charges? OP conveniently left out of their summary that these workers were arrested and deported as part of a child sexual exploitation material bust.

1·5 days agoSomething that I think helps it stand out is that it doesn’t rely nearly as much on “marvel style” humor. There are some funny moments but they’re more character driven you know? Like when K-2 slaps Cassian to sell the idea to the Imperials that K-2 is in charge.

17·8 days agoRogue One is the only one of these new movies that I really enjoy and re-watch. I really didn’t expect Disney to allow that ending for the rebels sent Scarif but I’m glad they did. I also kinda love how they blend it into Episode IV.
You don’t saaaaaay =O

Here’s Selûne, the little fluffball I adopted last year. Grey cats are just the prettiest things.

Do the individual photons slow down? No. But those photons get absorbed by atoms along the way and then a new photon of light is emitted (nearly, but not literally, instantly) which then continues along it’s merry way at C until it encounters another atom. What slows down is the net speed of transport through a given medium.
you’re overtly sexual!

3·16 days agoIMO the point is more that this article IS talking about someone specifically in Shenzen, and a report (PDF) I found shows that the average monthly cost for a 1 bedroom apartment in the city center is just over $800 USD a month with a monthly salary for English teachers of about $2,900 USD a month as of 2020. Sources are at the bottom of the PDF.

24·15 days agoI’m guessing the crime is how they got the movie.
According to the publication, police discovered that the leaker gained unauthorized remote access to the server on which the animated film was stored, leading him to allegedly download and upload clips of the film online.
This happened in Singapore I guess, but assuming they have similar laws to the US then this would be unlawful access of a computer system.
It’s an older meme, Sir, but it checks out.

I agree, it’s looking fantastic so far. Dual-stick controls is so much nicer than the weird c-stick for first person thing. BTW do you know if there’s a way to get the shader version of the texture pack working? I assume there isn’t but thought I’d ask.
