I really hope you’re right. Great parts of X seem to be all for it, and usual right wing influencers are also onboard.
Ah shit it’s på Danish. Dansk Twitch streamer, kom og vær med til at snakke om børneopdragelse og filosofi mens vi gamer!

Yeah, I know it didn’t really bring a whole lot to the discussion. I guess I’m just frustrated with politics in general. I do still stand by my point about Putin and Trump liking such a guy though.

As a European, I think the EU needs to wake up and become more willing to act geopolitically. It needs to take charge, and have a structure which allows it to make strong authoritative decisions, that will enable EU’s future as the third superpower nestled between Russia and the US. We need a single strong leader to do it, someone who can really challenge Putin and Trump, isn’t afraid to yell, to be threatening, and dominate. Our leader should be similar: A kind of people’s man, a man who can bring our culture back to its former glory, maybe from a small nation like Austria who actually can sway public opinion through strong speeches.
I can see the exact person vividly in my mind. As I concentrate on his image, I think I can even make out what kind of beard he has. Certainly, Trump and Putin would respect such a man.

Well said, and it really puts it all into perspective. There are vast geopolitical consequences.

I see a lot of right wing influencers arguing a kind of might makes right rhetoric. They say that the US should take Greenland simply because it can, and the US needs it. Which makes me wonder if I as a Dane am morally justified in gathering a few friends, breaking into these influencers homes, kicking them out, and just take up residence. After all, I need their houses, and my friends and I are stronger. Isn’t that so?
I suppose there is no moral obligation for me to obey American laws, if there is no moral obligation for America to obey international laws. If the US is justified in hostile takeover of a foreign democratic nation, then I see no reason why I, as a Danish citizen, should abide by US laws.

Used to be called OpenOffice back in the day. At least the name change made sense.

I’m Danish, and I’d like to believe that the rest of EU would at least impose harsh sanctions, but I’m beginning to worry that there won’t even be a strongly worded social media post.

Oh absolutely, they get off on it!
Here in Denmark, a climate activist was pushed down by a guard during our kings new years speech a few days ago. Most rational people agree that force was necessary (He didn’t move after being called out), and I agree. But the man was violently pushed to the ground. When he returned to the crowd, someone punched him in the face.
This was not a climate activist blocking public infrastructure, or sabotaging a grid. He pretty much just stood there for a moment with a sign, telling the public “Pull the emergency brake, climate collapse” before he was violently pushed to the ground and punched.

I’m not going to argue whether these things are appropriate, right, wrong, or what amount of force was necessary. But I do want to point out the glee, the frothing of the mouth, the absolute intense schadenfreude of every right-of-center person sharing his picture on social media. Everyone was roaring in approval, not just celebrating violence, but in many cases encouraging more of it.
People absolutely love this stuff. It’s intense tribalism, and it’s getting worse. I don’t remember it being like this 20 years ago.

People on X are celebrating as usual. They sure are owning the libs, with their leaders warmongering.

I think it’s quite important from the perspective of media preservation. We basically have a snapshot of music from a time where it was mostly Human-Made.

I spent 40$ on it back in 2013. I looked forward to playing the single player campaign.
Then I found a girl. Went through university. Got a career. Had two kids. Got a divorce. And now I have time to play it again, but feel like I’ve mostly grown out of gaming.
GG Chris Roberts.

Lots of promising stuff happening here in Denmark already. A minister of digitalization, Linux Laptops in the government, and Margrethe Vestager created an initiative for European based social networks called Rebuild.
But for some reason also some backwards stuff. Like trying to ban VPN. Like, what?
As soon as Trump actually does take Greenland: “Did you even say thank you?!”
