The numbers actually seem reasonable…

South Brazil. My city does have a reasonably OK bus system.

Talking with a taxi driver recently I asked how was competition from uber and he said that there was no competition, “those kids” using uber would be going by bus otherwise.

The following dictatorship put up a lot of antimonarchist propaganda, but still today abolishing slavery is celebrated by all as an achievement of his government.

In Brazil the monarchists get some sympathy because emperor Pedro II was the only competent and halfway decent leader the country ever had.

Why this controversy now? Tools like StyleGAN could do this for years already.

Tangential to your post, it was bizarre seeing the rabidly anti-“left” politicians of my state (in Brazil) loudly praising the local culture of cooperativism and proudly signing into law the recognition of it being part of the immaterial culture of the state.
