Neither google (at least for the first decade or so) or Amazon have such detailed data about you as facebook
I’m pretty sure there can be other bad stuff in water that existed before the industrial revolution
Bluesky’s algorithm is entirely optional and replaceable with user built algorithms
It’s not “it” that wants you to log in, the devs created the site to be entirely public. but users demanded an option to hide their profiles from logged out users. Any hidden posts are because the user explicitly set the flag in their own settings
The api endpoints are still public btw. Third party clients can see these profiles just fine :| not a fan of that decision tbh
man I feel sad seeing posts like this. We had a comparatively good society here for a bit but now a good chunk of the smart and decent people are going to emigrate. I can’t blame them but still worried about what’s going to happen to the rest of us. Wonder if this is how Germans felt in the early 1930s
Now I’m curious how do the journalists get the data to speak authoritatively, does tiktok give them special access or smth
agreed, this is really low hanging fruit for fixing society in general- services (banking but also insurance (remember Obama’s failed public option)) that everyone needs but are privately run should have competition run by the government that is publicly funded and run with the goal of break-even instead of for profit.
Let the for profit ones try to find reasons to exist then!
Other candidates for a public option: ISPs, ride-sharing services, credit rating agencies, etc etc
this film is dedicated to the brave mujahideen fighters of afghanistan
Directly and with votes we the collective audience are telling you, please keep overlong ai gibberish in an external link. If that makes it get fewer views then perhaps it’s not that interesting

I don’t disagree necessarily but this is a very euphoric way to phrase it
and yet in this very same thread people are perfectly willing to bomb Russian civilians because they share responsibility because they live in the same country. Somehow this doesn’t apply between countries in the EU, curious
Within a few hundred miles of CONUS? No, I hadn’t heard.
Purely hypothetically if musk were to become president would x then become a public website
