Poking at a person’s insecurities can be one of the best ways to deal with bigotry and hatred. So very much exhaust.

That’s a fundamental misunderstanding of political ideologies. These are all different ideologies from fascism. Although neoliberalism and by extension neoconservatism lead to fascism. No one is a classical liberal anymore. Compared to classical liberalism, neoliberalism is fundamentally its own ideology that was developed in the 20th century. Neoconservatism is a more conservative and usually more war hawkish version of neoliberalism.

Currently it seems like there is a highly improbable but mathematically possible outcome where the Conservatives and Bloc Québécois form a government. Canada gets to be the 51st state and Quebec gets to be the 52nd state. 💀

Liberals as in Neoliberals do. Neocons and fascists definitely don’t, but will claim they do. Progressives have thankfully figured out they can be mean. The fact most Democrat politicians are useless neoliberals doesn’t mean we have to be.

More like reality show tv police. They had Dr Phil on an ICE raid. Their goal is to scare people. But they are very close to getting to anyone, not just immigrants. And it’s been all kinds of immigrants not just Latinx. They been detaining pro-Palestinian students on student visas and tourists from European countries.

Also, so far they are outsourcing the death camps, to El Salvador, but I think they are probably going to start using American prisons and maybe even military bases. Trump signed an executive order for getting lethal injection drugs to the states. I think firing squad might be the method of choice still but we’ll see I guess.

In the last fifteen years, Republicans have been on the attack for everything Democrats do. They don’t pick and choose their battles. They are perpetually aggressive and now they have all three branches of government. No one has to care what suit Trump wears, but any excuse to make fun of him means your side is on the attack.

It takes two seconds to make fun of him for it today. It’s just to exhaust his base of non-MAGA Republicans. Republicans have shown you can be on the attack for everything a person does, for the last fifteen years. Either be vocal or die in silence.

Banning gender affirming care is a direct threat to trans people. Gender affirming care is a collection of lifesaving medical treatments and banning it denies trans people the fundamental right to exist. Refusing to spread a life-threatening disinformation campaign in Canada or hypothetically in the US is a strategic decision to defend life and liberty.

We do not need to tolerate intolerance. Nor should we. Tolerance is a social contract or peace treaty. When one group, such as fascists, break that contract, they are no longer protected by that social contract.

Amendment I

A person’s freedoms do not end when they break laws, rather there are no laws against our freedoms. A person’s freedom to swing their arm ends at another person’s nose. The freedom of speech ends where a person’s right to exist begins. Allowing fascists to trick people into banning lifesaving medical treatments isn’t speech we should protect. As it infringes on the right of those people to exist who depend on those lifesaving medical treatments.

In the US, we are a nation of freedoms. We write laws to protect those freedoms. When the laws infringe upon our freedoms we change the laws.
