16·2 days agoWell, there is a thing called counterculture. One generation didn’t like the prevailing culture they grew up in, and so they go against it and set new values. This then leads to the following generation disliking that new culture and go against it.
Rinse and repeat.

I remember when I felt invincible, like the world is my oyster. It felt like yesterday. Even though I didn’t achieve everything that I hoped, I’m glad I was raised to just enjoy the journey.

I don’t remember who said it, but I’m pretty sure the wealthy admitted themselves that they are in competition with each other on how much their net worth is. It is purely just trying to one-up each other. I’m not saying I’m wealthy but I kinda get why they do it.

22·5 days agoBillionaires will still keep it afloat. They recognise the importance of media for mass indoctrination. Like with investing, they diversify. Even if one asset is not making money, there are profitable assets they could take money from to keep underperforming assets going because the latter has intangible value to the owner. Twatter isn’t even making money for Musk, but that doesn’t matter, it is its intangible value as propaganda which is important for him and other billionaires.

Yeah, I don’t really care about what the rose-tinted form ought to be, I am more concerned about what it has been in practice. I can’t remember who it was but a Greek philosopher mentioned practising and observing a concept to see if it works in real life or not, or what could be rectified. This is important.

7·8 days agoAlso, it’s “The Independent”. I hate their clickbait nonsense and I refuse to actually click on any of their articles for the last ten years. This is like the left wing version of Daily Heil in terms of bad journalism.
Even with the small fines, constant fines could add up. Why else did Google and other tech companies support Trump? They are pissed during the Biden administration of the aggressive antitrust cases by the FTC under Lina Khan.

If money isn’t an issue, I would pick a more relaxed job. There is plenty of snobbery against blue collar jobs, but they are the most relaxed jobs I have ever had.
