If you have a product that cost 500 with a markup of 50, but tariffs are pushing it to 750, it could easily be worth spending 50 to reduce tariffs to 650 and sell it at 700. You make just as much profit on each unit and you reduce the per unit cost which likely means more sales.

I just looked at the price of some meats at Walmart. It’s expensive compared to Aldi in the UK. Transporting it across the Atlantic isn’t going to help bring costs down either.

Looks like that would be 6KG of rice for 2 people if done with rice alone. Don’t have that much, though with other ingredients typically in the kitchen I would probably be alright. Cooking oil is like 9000kcal for a litre. Fry the rice then would make it go further.

Obviously chugging oil alone is unpleasant but you can just add a bit more than normal if you need to internationally increase the kcal of some meals.
