None of these things change the name. they direct the federal government to use that name but in the case of a state he might actually have stumbled onto something that is unconcstitutional.

Im not sure if this will make you kinder but I find many many people skip very easy oportunities to make a small improvement in the world. These things are miniscule but they are things everyone can do all the time. Grab a cart from the lot if you pass one by that is not in a choral as you go to the store. Pick up litter that you pass by and toss or recycle it. I live in a condo complex and if my neighbor have packages that are easy enough to carry I bring them up and put it near their door and they actually now do the same for me. Not only a great convenience for us both but a great little human interaction for us both that makes us closer neighbors. Hold a door for someone, offer a seat on a train. Just keep in mind if you have an oportunity to do something that is scarcly and inconvenience for you but makes the world a better place. I would add smile when you see people. Be nice whenever you can and even return rudeness or such with strangers with kindness. You don’t have to deal with their stuff every day so its easier to be pleasant and move on.

yeah but foundation is so far from the story that its simply not the story. I think a lot of commentors are right that basically the wholely made up empire story is good. It would have better to have done it as its own thing and take out the foundation and any named things like harry seldon and psychohistory. Like terminus does not need to be anything more than a far imperial colony and pretty much it would all work out. Heck you could do a substory that someone from the colony framed the other two worlds to get the whole rebellion started.

Yeah I don’t think its impossible and it does not need to be 1:1. Many of these things they change are rather core to the story. I mean LORT movied changed a very significant thing without ruining it although it is a disapointment for fans.

well im looking for word for word. The lord of the rings was overall a very good adoption as much as I hated changing the sauruman and hobbit story.

hes sorta a special case. even though each thing was different it carried his humor. His stories were not very serious though to begin with so it does not matter quite as much as something from tolkein or asimov.

Its not even close. he has the two other worlds combine into a revolutionary force. and again so much of the world is more like dune than foundation. ai extermination, specially bred jump species, heck they don’t even explain the faster than light but not jump drive stuff, and the whole empire thing feels more dune to me with the wierd clone thing and religious sects. Also special powers early in anyway.

I still think the problem with WOT was they are to close to the story. So you could not get rid of the dragon reborn plot or such. I have had comments here about the foundation plot and the empire plot and the empire being what is good. I see that now and its kinda funny because you could just rip out the whole foundation plot to some degree and just call it empire as its own ip (which again to me is closer to dune than foundation) and it would be a nice generic sci fi series.

The problem is the systems seems alright if you essentially don’t use it which is the situation with a majority of people. Then they get fed the bs about long wait times and how we have the best most advanced stuff. Which for the first part we have long wait times and increasingly so and those most advanced stuff is enjoyed by politicians and rich folk but less from the average joe.

yeah but the bs janitor jobs were not such a thing back then to. LIke being a janitor at abbot in the 70’s was non union and non government but nice. Janitors were in house and part of the company and not part of a service.

yeah. I have a sick wife and healthcare was a third of my monthly nut. If the us had universal healthcare I would be able to keep going for some time.

well with less you could work at the primary level and see if you can get better canidates on the ballot but yeah it would take a lot.

I dont’ know if I have anything but im in my 50’s and feel like this. Its like with the right challenges and interesting things I was able to really do things but honestly everything seems based less and less on logic and more and more on bs and I am just having trouble functioning anymore.
