Yah, I don’t know if this HBO show that banks on the creepiness of a scary clown is going to get deep into Dark Tower lore.
That said, HBO is the ideal venue for a proper Dark Tower universe adaptation.
Oh for fuck sake. I’m so sick if Origin Stories. Pennywise works precisely because of the uncertainty around his origins. We’re not sure how long he’s been around the town but it seems like he’s existed for as long as the town has. Maybe more.
Then some dickhead hack comes along and goes, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if we revealed his origin?’ No! No it wouldn’t. Its such lazy writing. They can’t come up with decent stories so they have to bate people with bullshit franchise intrigue that doesn’t even show any real interest in the source material.
I don’t have very high hopes, but I’m damn excited
