I know it’s not what you’re asking, but in the inbox screen, you can change the tab from Unread to All and read all notifications, including those marked as read.
P.S. 485 notifications? How???

True, but then I would need to scroll through thousands of notifications to find the 485 which are in need of replies :)

What does the username have to do with that many comments?
They are one of the most frequent and active posters around here. Not surprised they have a million notifications.
