Chicken bone is fine IF AND ONLY IF IT’S RAW. Heat of frying/boiling makes the bones splintery and hard. That’s when they crack and hurt your dogs mouth.

Raw bones are relatively easy to chew for dogs and bring good nutritional value.

    Unsafe Bones to Avoid

    • All cooked, smoked, or heat-processed bones: Cooking turns bones brittle, causing them to splinter into sharp pieces that tear the mouth, throat, or stomach.
    • Weight-bearing leg bones from large mammals: Femurs and heavy pipe bones are often too hard and can crack a dog’s teeth.
    • Bones smaller than your dog’s mouth: These pose an immediate choking hazard if swallowed whole.
