The 87-year-old whose eviction sparked a domestic crisis and triggered nationwide anti-government protests has died in hospital late on Wednesday. Protesters say they will continue to demonstrate to uphold her legacy.

    Legislation to prevent this was proposed but was shut down by right wing parties. Sanchez (Spain’s PM) now has called for elections in november to try to increase his strength in parliament.

      And he can even push it through before the vote because of how the intermediate government is set up (rounding giving him the necessary votes).

          It is practically a condensed remainder of the previous government.

          Since there are a lot less seats there, there is some rounding going on regarding distribution. This means that they will have enough seats there to give them a qualified majority to enact the legislation, and i would bet my left foot that they will do exactly that, because it will ensure their victory in the upcoming votes.
