Well, if you’re proper skinny, you ain’t pressing 500.

That being said, as long as you’re doing enough exercises while adding the fat, you will at least maintain your strength. Fat guys in the gym tends to have a noticeable increase in weights on a leg press vs a squat because when you’re squatting, you’re lifting the extra body mass. Well, presses are a tad easier as well, what with it being stabilized by the sled.

But, yeah, if you hang with lifters that carry extra fat, they’ll tend to have decent leg gains by virtue of hauling around the extra mass all day.

Even with people that don’t lift, they’ll be able to push more in a press than a squat.

I could press 400 with my legs when I was a 95lb 5’9" ballet dancer, I was proper skinny certainly as I weigh now half again as much and people still think I am thin. Just all my strength was in my legs back then. Now more distributed.

Depends on the press, horizontal press is so easy I can do more than three times my own weight… on a different machine with free weights where you have to push upwards I top up at a bit less than twice my weight.

Fat guys that lose a lot of weight have massive calves. No amount of calf/ toe raises can compete with walking around with a hundred pounds or more of excess weight.

Yeah, you’re carrying it. Your mass doesn’t have another way to get around with you

That’s part of why people always lose lean mass when they lose weight. You no longer need that muscle and bone to move the weight around.
