Trump’s complaint was that Bombardier doesn’t build planes in the US; would have been nice if the article explained what the 1200 Bombardier employees in Kansas are doing if they aren’t building planes.

The business jet “market remains historically tight, and a ban on Bombardier products would severely disrupt U.S. customers” who already face multi-year waits for private jets, analysts with investment bank Stifel said in a report.
Bombardier primarily sells private and commercial jets to individuals, businesses, governments, and military forces worldwide. High-net-worth individuals account for roughly 60% of its customers. Bombardier’s customers include carriers such as American Airlines and U.S. federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense and Federal Aviation Administration. The Defense Department uses Bombardier planes to conduct intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations because they can fly fast at high altitudes, Stifel analysts said.
Bombardier said it has workers in 20 U.S. states and plants in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, New Jersey, Texas and Washington, D.C. The company’s supply chain also comprises 2,800 U.S. companies in 47 states, according to Bombardier. Bombardier said in its statement that the company spends over $2.5 billion with U.S. suppliers annually. It has headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, while its Challenger Jets are powered by American-made engines from U.S. aerospace manufacturer Honeywell, which are made in Phoenix, Arizona. Wings for Bombardier planes are made at the company’s facility in Red Oak, Texas, while flight control components are manufactured at its Los Angeles, California, area facility. Bombardier also operates service centers in Dallas, Texas; Hartford, Connecticut; Miami, Florida; Tucson, Arizona; and Wichita, Kansas. Bombardier sources more than 50% of its aircraft components from U.S. manufacturers — more than American competitors such as Gulfstream, according to Stifel.
It looks like the company does some assembly in the USA, sells to private individuals and US government entities, and purchases components from US manufacturers. The also operate service centers in the USA, which means they are employing mechanics/machinists too. A quick google search would have brought you all of this information, but my bad for not spoon feeding it to you.
I wasn’t asking you to provide the information. It just seems logical for the article to address what Bombardier actually does in the US while the problem comes from Trump’s complaints about what the company doesn’t do there. Mentioning all those employees without saying anything about what they do is a little odd given the context.
Seeing rich fucks like Bezos, Musk, and others be inconvenienced by this would be absolutely fucking delicious.

I agree with you that journalists should not assume that you are informed and at least go lightly into the background. As I understand it, they manufacture parts such as wings, which are then shipped to Canada for assembly.
This is another shakedown by Trump. It just so happens to threaten a red state a tiny bit this time. It will go away once Bombardier buys whatever scamcoin he is currently running or makes a deposit into his new crypto-bank.

I have zero trust in America and most Americans. And that is so fucked up. I never thought I would ever think like this. But it seems so obvious this place is like a human farm and nobody even has the consciousness to understand. And those that do understand have the option of dying, going crazy, or going to jail, OR joining the same cause of making sure people remain cattle.

Sen. Roger Marshall posted on Facebook Tuesday that he would defend the Wichita workforce while sharing Trump’s objective of increasing U.S. production.
“I’m going to fight to keep Bombardier’s over 1,200 Kansas jobs,” Marshall wrote. “I’ve already taken that concern inside the Oval Office.”
He said he and the administration “agree on the mission” of bringing well-paying manufacturing jobs to Wichita and expanding Bombardier’s U.S. production, pointing out that American buyers account for more than 50 per cent of the company’s sales.
“I remember when my classmates’ parents worked at Learjet — later Bombardier — when it employed well over 3,000 people,” Marshall said. “Bombardier is obligated to grow that footprint in Kansas again.”

Wichita Mayor Lily Wu said in a statement Monday that Trump’s post “certainly creates some uncertainty,” but she is hopeful the situation will work itself out.
Wu wrote that the city appreciates Bombardier’s continued investment, adding that she plans to meet with the company to better understand what the news could mean for its local operations.
In her post, she quoted U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas, who said he “reached out to the Trump administration to make certain the President is aware of the significant contributions of Bombardier to Kansas and the importance of its presence in Wichita to many Kansas workers at Bombardier and in the Bombardier supply chain.”
