Aberystwyth University closed one of its campuses a few years ago. The place has been left to rot, but recently they’ve started clearing the place out, and removing all the old scientific textbooks. Most of them look untouched. Wonder how much this lot would have set students back if buying new.




For books of no particular interest, my local second-hand bookstore has a shelf which sells books at 10 cents each. And it gets refilled quite often!
You may really underestimate the demand here.
Also, yes, we want to live in a world where things are not made disposable. The longer we can maintain what we have, the less waste we produce and the less overproduction we need to rely on. It’s sustainability 101.
those books don’t get sold dude. they get thrown out. i worked at a bookstore for awhile.
again, you can go rescue these books. go right ahead. nobody is stopping you. i’m going to throw trash in the trash.
