Most countries don’t execute POWs because they don’t want the other side to execute theirs.
Russia does not care if you execute their POWs.
Modern day America is an exception, because they are rapidly aligning with and mimicking authoritarian countries like Russia and China, and attacking free countries like western Europe.
I’m not normalizing anything. Just pointing out that, while we like to pretend there’s some kind of veneer of civility and convention around war, that no such thing exists in reality.
Believe me, if I had any power to make lasting change with how our species likes to destroy itself, things would be very different.

They don’t present the appearance to have executed POW’s, surely, which is understandable. That’s what black sites are for.
