    Haven’t read this article. But been saying it. The appeal, to me, was nerdy middle school/high school kids in the 80s kicking butt. And the fantasy/mystery/dnd of it. It was the way I could relate to the kids in a nostalgic way. Now it’s some early 20 “kids” in the 10th grade. Just forget that it’s some high school kids and watch it for what it is.

      It went like this to me;

      -season 1: nerdy, dnd, 80’s, cool little corny/campy coming off age story.

      -season 2: nerdy, 80’s, cool little corny/campy coming off age story.

      -season 3: cool little corny/campy coming off age story.

      Season 4: the only thing remotely first season was the name of the club.

      The big bads are loosely DND influenced and in name only. I rewatched the first two seasons a few times. But I got all I wanted out of the previous two on the first watch. And I’m not saying they’re bad, they’re just losing me. At least Jack Black isn’t in it I guess.
